Painted Petals Gift Tag for Leadership Gifts

It's customary to give small gifts to your downline and friends at Stampin' Up! events. Sometimes I run out of time and don't get anything made. This year for Leadership, I made up little goody bags with some snacks like cheese and crackers, almonds, chocolate, and mints. Just a few things I thought they might like to get them through the day. Since I made these up in the wee hours before I left for the airport, I didn't have time to get too fancy. But I thought this sentiment from the Painted Petals stamp set was perfect: "Friends become our chosen family."

New! Weekly Deals + Easy Valentine Ideas

ON SALE: Sweetheart Punch
Nothing says "welcome home" like a sick kid! Last night I was away for our team meeting in Springfield and this morning was supposed to be my catch-up morning, but 10 minutes into the school day, Elise was throwing up! She seems okay, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it was a "one and done" kind of bug and that no one else gets it. Am I delusional!?

Check out the latest Weekly Deals from Stampin' Up! There are some great punches for last minute Valentine's Day crafts! Even the brand new Ornate Tag Topper Punch is on sale!!

I really loved the clean and simple valentine projects that Sara Douglass shared on stage at Leadership Conference. She started with the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack and cut them into 2-1/4" strips, then folded them in half and punched a heart in the front. Look how she used the mini designer paper cards:
She added some White Note Cards and Envelopes and made some simple notecards like the one above and this one.
And the leftover heart punch outs were perfect for adorning the envelopes or more valentine treats!

Leadership 2015: Day 3 Highlights

The last day of Leadership was a bit of a lighter schedule. We started with a keynote speaker: Jason Wright. He made us laugh. He made us cry. And his message was the core of what we do -- hand written letters and cards MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I am inspired to continue sharing handmade creations with as many people as I can!

We had a couple breakout classes. I attended two classes about building and mentoring my team. Both classes were fabulous! After lunch, we gathered for a final General Session and enjoyed a fun game show style event recap and a stamping presentation by Carrie Cudney.

The conference was over at 3:30 (but not before one last all attendee giveaway -- the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Paper!) and I finally snapped some pictures with my mom, my upline, and my whole team. I feel like I didn't get enough time with everyone!

I had dinner with one of my 2nd level downline who lives nearby and spent the rest of the evening visiting with friends and packing! By the time I got to bed at 1:00 am, I only slept for 3-1/2 hours before I had to get up and head to the airport!

I had an early flight to Chicago and was able to make it there okay, but my second flight was cancelled as the snow started falling and flying. I decided it wasn't safe to try to rent a car and drive home, so my friend rescued me and I crashed on their couch for the night before catching a train home Monday morning. I think I heard that O'Hare reported a total of 19 inches of snow! Whew!
24 hours later than planned, I am home with my family and trying to get right back in the swing of things and caught up! Since I missed an entire work day, my schedule will be off a little this week. I am working on make and take kits and stamp of the month club packages, so if you're waiting -- be patient! It's coming!

Leadership 2015: Day 2 Highlights

Whew! It was another busy day! It was so non-stop that I went straight to bed when I finally got back to my room around 9:30 pm! We started with the day with a big announcement from Shelli -- she and her husband Sterling are planning to do a LDS mission!

We got an update on Paper Pumpkin. In the Gathering Place, they displayed a sneak peek of the February and March kits -- I LOVE them! It seems like Paper Pumpkin just keeps getting better and better! If you haven't tried it yet, I hope you'll consider subscribing or at least trying a pre-paid 1 month subscription which you can add to your next order...it even counts towards Sale-a-bration and Hostess Rewards!! Check out the pre-paid subscriptions in the online store here.

We finished the morning general session with a demonstrator by Sara Douglass. I love the project ideas she shared, especially this notecard with the Something to Say stamp set and coordinating Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
Today was the Advisory Board Luncheon for all Advisory Board "Alumni". I was thrilled to be invited to this special lunch and enjoyed sharing the meal with my AB sisters!
After lunch was the Share Fair -- a series of mini classes that we could pick and choose to attend. I got to stop in and enjoy the Demonstrator Theater during the first part of the Share Fair. I just loved this card that Jenny Peterson shared. She CASEd (aka copied) the idea and card layout right from our demonstrator magazine Stampin' Success. I like her version even better than the original!

During the second half of the Share Fair, I presented a class and shared information about different ways that I support my downline. It went better than I thought it would and I was happy that I didn't end up just reading from my script!

After a dinner with friends, we went back to the Convention center for a Stampin' Night Out -- an evening session with lots of stamping demonstrations and door prizes. We even got an all-attendee giveaway! The Seasonal Snapshot Project Life card collection!

Here is one of my favorite projects from the evening. Donna Griffith demonstrated this fun box designed by Sam Donald. You can find the instructions on Sam's blog here.

Leadership 2015: Day 1 Highlights

I made it to Orlando late on Wednesday and today was the first day of the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference. Today was mostly "business" -- we talked a lot about the new compensation plan and the change in corporate events. We finished up the day with a demonstration from Shelli Gardner. It was very entertaining and even more so inspiring. I loved all of the projects that she shared. Here are just a few of my favorite ones.

Stampin' Up! Painted Petals Card from Leadership 2015 #stampinup #occasions #soshelli
This card created with the Painted Petals stamp set was "amazingly amazing"! Shelli said you have to be very patient, but it looked fairly easy. Simple stamp the images in classic ink and then spritz with water to get the ink to run. That's where the patience part comes in, you need to let each color dry before you do the next one.
This next card was created with the flower stamps in the Petal Potpourri stamp set. I never thought the layer them on top of the each other. I love the masking technique used to add layers of flowers on this card.

Tonight, we had Manager's Reception at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I think I missed out on a lot of photo ops because I don't have many pictures to share. We enjoyed the Fantasmic water show and then had access to two rides and a fabulous dessert bar. It was a fun night!
