3 Blissful Blooms Paper Pumpkin Alternative Cards

It's not often that I get my Paper Pumpkin kit and don't know what's inside! Each month's kit are supposed to be a surprise, but I usually spoil it by looking for photos or the preview video before my kit comes. I was so busy in August that I forgot to look for spoilers! So when my kit arrived, it was truly a surprise! And what a good one!! The August Blissful Blooms kit is GORGEOUS!! I'm so happy that I can order refills! (Shop for Blissful Blooms Refill Kit Now)

Here are some of the alternative projects that I came up with using the contents of the Blissful Blooms kit! I just added a bit of colored cardstock! For the first one, I cut apart the envelope to use the polka dot/splatter piece eon the card front. I used a 2" Circle Punch to punch out one of the card fronts and then used the rest of the card front for the next card!

For the last card, I tore the card front in half and attached a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to the inside of the front flap. (Tip: Tie the twine around the card flap before adhering the Blackberry Bliss cardstock so that the twine doesn't show on the inside of the card.)

Sale-a-bration Sneak Peek: Pedal Pusher Flower Basket

I pre-order the new Sale-a-bration gifts (just one of the perks I love about being a demonstrator!) and was working on swap cards for our team meeting last night. I wanted to try out the new Global Design Project challenge. It's a sketch challenge this week. Here's what I came up with.

 I was using the Pedal Pusher stamp set -- it's an adorable stamp set with a bicycle built for two, a basket, and little stamps to go in the basket. The bike was too big to go in the circle for this layout, so I decided to use the basket and flowers on it's own. And then I literally cut the "here for you..." greeting in half so I could use the "for you" by itself. It will be easy to piece the stamps together on the clear block when I want to use them together.

After I colored the flowers, I realized that it went perfectly with the Wildflower Fields Designer Paper -- another gift option when you spend $50 or more during Sale-a-bration.

Among the Branches Woodland Embossing Folder Christmas Card

Woodland Embossing Folder #139673

A somewhat surprisingly popular item from the Holiday Catalog has been the Woodland Embossing Folder. It coordinates with the Among the Branches stamp set, but it can be used with so many other stamp sets and for many techniques. The Woodland Embossing Folder is currently on Backorder, but it's also on the Retiring List, so if you've been thinking about getting it, BUY IT NOW before it sells out!

For this card, I inked the raised trees on the embossing folder with Early Espresso ink and then ran it through the Big Shot. The result was not quite what I was going for, so I tried putting the ink on the other side of the folder. Come back tomorrow to see that project and a video tutorial to show you how.

Among the Branches: Woodland Christmas Card

I'm packaging up make and take kits for everyone who placed an order over $40 with me last month. I use the Stampin' Rewards from the hostess code to cover the supplies for the packets and also the free gift that I include each month. (Learn More) The free gift for October is a package of the Metallic Foil Doilies. They are so pretty in person! The package includes a couple sizes of both gold and silver doilies. Of course you can use them on any card for any occasion, but they are perfect for Christmas cards! Here's one I made with the Among the Branches stamp set.

Makeover Monday: One Tag Fits All Baby Card

I'm a few hours late because I feel asleep working last night, but I'm going to back-date this post because I can't have "Makeover Monday" on Tuesday! ha ha!

I teamed up with my friend Jen Davidson again for a card makeover featuring the One Tag Fits All stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. Check it out:

Jen tends to create monochromatic cards because she's not sure what colors to pair together. My advice is to choose designer paper with several colors, like the Lullaby design in the "After" card. Then pull the color combination from that design. In this case, I didn't end up using any additional colors from the design (Hello Honey, Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, and Sahara Sand), but by using a design that incorporates both the Hello Hone and the Coastal Cabana, it pulls those two colors together and makes them seem less random.

Other changes:

• I extended the designer paper to both edges of the card.
• I changed the shape of the greeting layer to better fit the image size and layered it.
• I stamped the image in black and colored it to make it POP.
• I changed the ribbon to a wider piece of cardstock to create a strong base and "anchor" down the stamped image.

If I could only change ONE thing about Jen's card it would be to stamp the image in black and color it. This single thing would really make her card pop. Not sure which black ink to choose?

• Jet Black Staz-On Ink: This solvent ink is great for watercoloring, but NOT good for Photopolymer stamps. A good choice for rubber stamps.
• Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad: The best choice (for now) for Photopolymer stamps.

Stampin' Up! Guy Greetings Nautical Card

It has been a very hectic week with the free shipping promotion and TWO team meetings! Last night, I finished up a couple customer orders and then fell asleep working on my own order! I woke up with 5 minutes to spare, but ended up missing the deadline by FORTY SECONDS. Obviously I needed sleep more than free shipping! Oh well! Thank you to everyone who got your orders in one time! I have LOTS of thank yous to catch up on this weekend! It going to be a busy day with the kids' activities and some design work I need to finish. So I'm going to keep this post short and share one of the cards I created for the team meeting make and takes this week. I love this clean and simple layout.

Painted Petals Gift Tag for Leadership Gifts

It's customary to give small gifts to your downline and friends at Stampin' Up! events. Sometimes I run out of time and don't get anything made. This year for Leadership, I made up little goody bags with some snacks like cheese and crackers, almonds, chocolate, and mints. Just a few things I thought they might like to get them through the day. Since I made these up in the wee hours before I left for the airport, I didn't have time to get too fancy. But I thought this sentiment from the Painted Petals stamp set was perfect: "Friends become our chosen family."

The designer paper is from the Sale-a-bration Best Year Ever series and the clips came from the Gratitude for Days Kit from the Holiday Catalog that is now in the Clearance Rack.

Stacked with Love Valentine's Day Card

Here's another "clean and simple" card for you! This would be a good "warm up" card! I used the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack from the Occasions Catalog and the Heart Punch. With all of the different patterns in the Stacked with Love pack, you could make a whole stack of valentines!
