Instead of taking a picture of the card with each turn showing in the window, here's the "wheel" that's on the inside:
Supplies: Season of Friendship stamp set, Riding Hood Red ink & cardstock, Baja Breeze ink, Kiwi Kiss ink, Pink Pirouette ink, Kraft cardstock, Sahara Sand ink, Whisper White cardstock, Coluzzle, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Cirlce Punches, Crafters' Tool Kit, Gold Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals The card is really not that hard, once you break it down into individual steps. The thing that took me the longest to figure out was how to space the brad and the windows, etc. If you follow these instructions, you shouldn't have any problems making one yourself.
Viewfinder Card Directions
- Using the Coluzzle, cut two identical circles, one out of neutral-colored cardstock and one out of copy paper. Check to see if the circle you picked will fit your card with plenty of room to turn before cutting. (I used the second largest circle for a regular size card.) Set aside the neutral-colored cardstock for now.
- Fold the circle in half and then in half again. Mark these folds with a straight edge to find the center of your circle. Fold the diagonals to create 1/8 pieces (like a pizza!).
Place the two circles together, copy paper on top. Use a piece of re-positional tape to hold the bottom circle in place, if needed. The copy circle acts as a guide as you punch notches around the circle. Using the 1/8 handheld punch, punch notches on each of the folded lines. Continue adding notches between each of the existing notches (between the folded lines). Note: The photo shows only a few notches punched. Continue punching all the way around the circle.- Using the paper piercing needle from the Crafter’s Toolkit, pierce a hole in the center of the circles, using the intersecting folds on the copy paper circle as a guide.
- Discard copy paper circle. Set aside the cardstock circle.
- Punch a partial hole on the right side of the coordinating cardstock (5 ¼” x 4") using a 1-3/8” circle punch.
- Line up the wheel on the back of the cardstock so the side peeks out of the partial hole. Turn over the cardstock and pierce a hole through the coordinating cardstock using the circle as a guide. Do not attach to the cardstock yet.
- Use the 1-3/8” circle punch to punch a window centered above the pierced hole.
Using the card front as a guide, punch a notch on the side of the card base (front & back) so that it will be easier to grasp and turn the wheel when the card is closed.
Optional: For another layer in the window opening, use the 1-1/4" circle punch to make a window in a coordinating cardstock scrap. Cut around the circle and attach to the back of the viewfinder window.- Attach the viewfinder wheel to the coordinating cardstock with a brad.
- Stamp the images inside the window. Rotate circle 90 degrees and repeat. If using a stamp that is larger than your window, create a mask to prevent stamping outside the circle.
- Place a Stampin' Dimensional in each of the 4 corners on the back of this piece and adhere to the front of a 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” card. (Using dimensionals will allow your wheel to move more freely.)
