Send Me Soaring Card + Demonstrator Magazine Sneak Peek

I'm excited to start two new online clubs in April. One of them is the "Stamp Set of the Month" Club and the first stamp set will be Send Me Soaring from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Watch my blog for more details about the club in the next couple days!

This card was CASEd from a swap card, but there was no name on the back of the card, so I'm not sure who the original designer was. I changed the colors and designer paper, using the Everyday Enchantment series from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I just love the color combination in that paper! The colors I used were Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Soft Suede.

Want to see more ideas using this stamp set? Stampin' Up! posted a sneak peek of our demonstrator magazine Stampin' Success earlier this month. Petal Cone Die Carrot Box

Who knew this Petal Cone Die for the Big Shot had so many uses!? Remember the bat? The heart pouch? And the takeout box? Click here to see other Petal Cone die projects.

This carrot box was inspired by a project made by my friend Meg Loven. We made this in Stamp Club this week.

Here's a close-up of the tag and ribbon. The Lucky Limeade ribbon is part of the Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad bundle that you can choose for free during Sale-A-Bration. (And don't miss out, Sale-A-Bration ends on Saturday, March 31! Just ONE day left!! Click here for details and see what you can choose for your free gift!)

I love how this ribbon looks curled! We started by wrapping in around a dowel and heating it, but we found it's just as easy to curl it with your fingernail or scissors!

Here's a tip for the tag: Punch a hole in the tag and then cut from the edge of the tag to the hole so that you can slide the tag on the ribbon without having to tie it in place! Click here to see a close-up for a tag like this on another project.
Here are the pieces I used from the Petal Cone Die (#121810, #32.95). I used Pumpkin Pie and Lucky Limeade cardstock. One cut of the die will yield one half of the petal cone, one scallop circle, and one banner. After I die cut the petal cones, I put them through with the polka dot embossing folder to get the texture. I cut one petal cone in half and then cut the half circles off the top of all of them.

I cut the scallop circles at an angle (I think I cut the last two scallops off) so that they would fit behind the top of the cone. I used Sticky Strip on the side flaps and also on the bottom of the scalloped circles so that everything would stay together.
As I am posting this, I'm thinking of even more ways to use this die, so stay tuned!!

Wow! Stampin' Up! added about a dozen new videos to their YouTube channel! Check them out here.

My favorite is for the "Every Last Detail" project that Carrie Cudney demonstrates in a series of six videos. This was a class that some demonstrators took at Convention last July. Don't you love it!?! I hope they do something like this again this summer because I would love to attend a class like this!

Summer Smooches Sneak Peek: MDS Hybrid Card

I used the new Summer Smooches Digital Kit (available for customers on April 1st!) to create this My Digital Studio (MDS) hybrid card for my team meeting earlier this month. The background design was printed from the card template that comes with the digital kit and then we embossed the greeting on Daffodil Delight cardstock and adding rhinestones to finish the card.

Creating hybrid cards with My Digital Studio is easy! My home printer is not very good, so I prefer to print my designs at a local copy center. Here's how: In My Digital Studio, I saved the card image as a JPG. Then, in Microsoft Word, I "inserted" the JPG image as a picture. I right-clicked on the image and then I edited the "Size" of the picture and made it 4" x 5.25". I copied and pasted the picture so that there were four on the page, one in each corner. Finally, I did a "Save As" and saved the file as a PDF. I put the PDF on a flash drive and took it to the local copy center along with our Whisper White cardstock and had it printed. The colors were clear and vibrant, MUCH better than my home printer!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Curly Cute stamp set, Versamark ink, Daffodil Delight cardstock, Island Indigo cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Rhinestone Jewel Accents, Stampin' Dimensionals, My Digital Studio, Summer Smooches Digital Kit

Baroque Motifs Girly Card + Retired List Date Announcement

I just realized that I forgot to post the other version of yesterday's card. I had the text in there, but never added the photo. Click here to see that post again and check out the blue version of the Elements of Style card.

Today's card uses the older Baroque Motifs stamp set. This one has been around for awhile and I wouldn't be surprised if it retired this year. Speaking of retired stamp sets -- we'll know for sure when the Retired List is released on April 15! It's a little earlier this year because the the current Idea Book & Catalog will end on May 31. We'll have six weeks to shop the retired list before those stamp sets are officially discontinued. Watch for the Retired Accessories list to be posted on April 25. Accessories will only be available while supplies last.

Here's the Girly Girl Baroque Motifs card. The colors were inspired by the Cheerful Treat Designer Paper. (Click here to see it, get it free with a $150 order or party.)

The ruffle at the bottom was made with the White Waffle Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I cut a piece and folded it half lengthwise so there was a nice straight edge. Then I ran adhesive along the bottom of the Pretty in Pink cardstock piece and put the waffle paper down, creating a pleated ruffle as I went. (Note: It took two pieces of the waffle paper to go all the way across the card.) Here's a close-up of the flower:

Do you love that pink rhinestone?? It's from the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit die cut flowers in the Occasions Mini Catalog. (See it online here.)

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Baroque Motifs, Sincere Salutations, Melon Mambo ink & cardstock, Concord Crush ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Blossom Punch, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle Punches, 1/2" Circle Punch,

Elements of Style Best Wishes Card

Here's another card from the Girly Girl class. I think some Vanilla Smooch Spritz would have been pretty on this one too (or maybe even some darker splatters with the Color Spritzer), but we used Dazzling Details and a teeny tiny pearl on the bird instead. The stamp set is called Elements of Style.

The background on the Crumb Cake cardstock at the bottom of the card was stamped with the En Francais background stamp (using Versamark ink to create a watermark). Someone asked me what the French words meant and Trina reminded me an answer I gave her a few years ago. Translated, it means: "Your husband called and said to spend as much as you want!" (grin) I'll have to remember that line again for next time!

For the bird (close-up below), I inked the stamp in Crumb Cake and then "rolled" it on the Soft Suede ink so that the edges of the bird were the darker brown color.
Here's the first version of this card. I decided the classic combo of pink and brown would be prettier. I like the pink one better. Which do you prefer? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Elements of Style, En Francais, Petite Pairs, Blushing Bride ink & cardstock, Crumb Cake ink& cardstock, Soft Suede ink & cardstock, Very vanilla cardstock, Versamark Ink Pad, Dazzling Details Glitter Glue, Pearl Jewel Accents, Blushing Bride Ribbon

Creative Elements Birthday Card

Tonight was my Girly Girl card class (to be followed by the Manly Man card class next month). Here's one of the cards we made tonight. It's not the girliest of the cards, but it's got pearls (in the middle of the butterfly) and satin ribbon and is so pretty in person! Although, as I type this, I realized that I wanted to break out the Smooch Spritz and I forgot it...I think it would have added just the right shimmer!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Creative Elements, Elementary Elegance, Wisteria Wonder ink & cardstock, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Basic Black cardstock, VeryVanilla cardstock, First Edition Designer Series Paper, Eyelet Border Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Labels Collections Framelits (Big Shot), Designer Frames Embossing Folders (Big Shot), Pearl Jewel Accents, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

Apothecary Art Birthday Card

I found this card when I cleaned out my office and realized that I never did share it with you. This was one of our Stamp Club projects in January. We used some of the new Occasions Mini Catalog products: Apothecary Art stamp set and the coordinating Labels Collection Framelits to cut them out with the Big Shot, plus the Paper Doily die behind it. I CASEd this card from a card swap, but I changed the colors and made the card a square. (If I remember right, it's a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" square and fits in the Medium Square Envelopes.

Check out this video from Stampin' Up! for some tips on using the Paper Doily die.

My Digital Studio Sweet Details Photo Book: Alaska Cruise Pages

Busy, Busy, Busy! This month is a busy one as I'm trying to cram as much as I can into the last month of Sale-A-Bration! Last night I held a My Digital Studio class and we went over some of the basics to create the Sweet Details Photo Book. This template is available in the My Digital Studio Express Trial version. So you can create your own book during your free 30 day trial. Click here to get your My Digital Studio Trial now!

I used the Sweet Details template as a "Best of 2011" album and I'm proud to say this is the first album I've EVER completed! (Notice I said completed!) It's so easy with the designer templates in My Digital Studio. I went through and added all the photos and then went back and added text and journaling. I did tweak the layouts here and there and change some of the background colors/paper and embellishments. It was easy. And hey, if *I* can do it, you can too!

Tonight I'm headed to Springfield to do a card class with some of my old stamping friends! It's been many months since I've seen some of them and I can't wait to catch up and craft together!

Here are some pages from my Sweet Details 2011 Photo Book. These are the pages I created for the Alaska Cruise that Jim and I took with Stampin' Up! last May.
