Framelit Treat Holder

We made this project in Stamp Club this month. It's a treat holder; there's a bag of candy in the middle. It's hard to tell in the photo, but we used the ink pad lids and a Blender Pen to watercolor the flowers and leaves and then added some Smooch Iridescent Ink over it.

It's easy to make and I'll tell you how, but if you want a video tutorial, leave me a comment and I'll add it to my "to do" list!

Shelli Gardner demonstrated this project on stage at Leadership Conference. Start with two pieces of cardstock cut with the Labels Collections Framelits. (I used the second largest size.) Cut about 1" off the round end off of both pieces. (I cut it at one of the "bumps" in the framelit.) Then score 1" from the cut side. Add sticky strip to the flap of one of the pieces and adhere the two pieces together by matching up the 1" flaps. Bring the tops together and punch a hole for ribbon. Embellish as desired.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:  Four Frames, Petite Pairs, Blushing Bride ink & cardstock, Pear Pizzazz ink & cardstock, Jet Black Staz-On ink, Whisper White cardstock, 2010-2012 In Colors Patterns DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Labels Collection Frameslits (Big Shot), Crop-a-Dile, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Bordering on Romance Diorama Card

My card for today is another diorama card. Did you see the Send Me Soaring Diorama Card I posted the other day? Click here to check it out. I like this one even more and unfortunately, the photos just do not do this card justice. I used Dazzling Details on the flowers and they are so soft and sparkly. I also cut out the flowers and layered a few of them on dimensionals, of the flowers really pop more than them photo shows.

Watch my video tutorial to learn how to make a diorama card at home. The video features the Send Me Soaring stamp set, but the dimensions and assembly of the card in the same.

Stampin Up Supplies: Bordering on Romance, Loving Thoughts, Basic Gray ink pad, Pretty in Pink marker, Pink Pirouette marker & cardstock, Certainly Celery marker, Whisper White cardstock, Twitterpated Designer Paper, Dazzling Details, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Rhinestone Brads, 1/16" Hole Punch, Sticky Strip, Stampin Dimensionals

Double Punched Blossom Card Tutorial

Two videos in a row! Don't expect this every day, but I wanted to share this card before the Occasions Mini Catalog ends tomorrow. If you haven't already ordered it, you definitely want to get the Mixed Bunch stamp set and coordinating Blossom Punch. Click here to see other projects using this stamp set.

Today's project was designed by Robin Armbrecht for our dowline meeting this month. I changed up the colors and the designer paper, but otherwise, I CASEd it from Robin, Thanks, Robin!

I don't remember what Robin called this card, or if it even had a name, so I'm called it the Double Punched Blossom Card. Click here to see the PDF tutorial or scroll down to see the video tutorial to learn to make this card yourself.

Summer Smooches Blossom Card

What a whirlwind weekend! It was our annual Spring Into Stamping meeting on Saturday and I had the honor of once again designing and preparing the make and takes for 100 demonstrators. A special shout out to my helpers: Libby, Margo, Debbie, Wiko, Beverly, Chris, and Mary! I lost track of our total number of man hours this past week, but it was a lot! I seem to forget each year just how much work it is.

And unfortunately, this year, I was not able to stay for the entire meeting so I could be with my family (including all of my siblings and in-laws from out of town) to celebrate Thomas' First Communion.

Needless to say, I'm exhausted! I had intended to get some work done tonight, but instead prompting fell asleep in the recliner. I promise I have more to share, but for tonight, I'm going to just share one of the Summer Smooches projects we made at Spring Into Stamping this year.

I used the small tulip stamp and stamped it in each petal of the Blossom Petal Punch. It's a simple, but sweet card!

Supplies: Bright Blossoms stamp set, Petite Pairs stamp set, Island Indigo ink & cardstock, Daffodil Delight ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Summer Smooches Designer Paper, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Blossom Punch, 3/4" and 1" Circle Punches, Stampin' Dimensionals

Send Me Soaring: Turn Kites into Flowers

Here's another card that I'm sending with the April "Stamp of the Month" Club. I wanted to do something nontraditional with the kites to show how versatile this stamp set can be, so I used the kites as petals of and leaves of a flower. I also used one of the kites to create a pattern down the side of the card.

Did you check out the samples in the sneak peek of Stampin' Success here? I love how they used the kites to create a plaid pattern. Click here to check it out (the link is at the bottom of the post).

Wisteria Wonder Smooches

I used leftover pieces from another card (click here to see it) to make this card with the new Summer Smooches stamp set. It's hard to see in the photo, but I used the Dazzling Details glitter glue on the purple flowers.

(If you love sneak peeks, click here check out the brand NEW Summer Smooches suite in my Online Store.)

I was trying to design a card to send to my downline, but this didn't quite do it for me. I think it's too monochromatic and this stamp set is so much fun with bold, bright colors!

Supplies: Bright Blossoms (Summer Smooches), Loving Thoughts, Wisteria Wonder marker & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Basic Black ink & cardstock, Pear Pizzazz Marker, First Edition DSP, Labels Collection Framelits (Big Shot), Designer Frames Embossing Folder (Big Shot), Extra Large Oval Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Embossing with Framelits Tutorial

I designed this card for our demonstrator group meeting last night and demonstrated it many times throughout the month of March, including creating it with my Stamp Club. Everyone loved it! My favorite part of the card is the delicate embossed frame!

Check out this close-up:

I saw several different techniques for creating the embossed frame with the Framelits, but the one that worked best for me came from Angie Juda. Here's a photo showing the Big Shot "sandwich" that I used to emboss the frame. The most important thing is to make sure the cutting edge (the raised edge along the inside of the framelit) is face UP so that it doesn't cut the cardstock.

Send Me Soaring Card + Demonstrator Magazine Sneak Peek

I'm excited to start two new online clubs in April. One of them is the "Stamp Set of the Month" Club and the first stamp set will be Send Me Soaring from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Watch my blog for more details about the club in the next couple days!

This card was CASEd from a swap card, but there was no name on the back of the card, so I'm not sure who the original designer was. I changed the colors and designer paper, using the Everyday Enchantment series from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I just love the color combination in that paper! The colors I used were Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Soft Suede.

Want to see more ideas using this stamp set? Stampin' Up! posted a sneak peek of our demonstrator magazine Stampin' Success earlier this month. Click here to see it the article featuring the Send Me Soaring stamp set. Get your own free subscription to this magazine when you sign up to be a demonstrator!

Baroque Motifs Girly Card + Retired List Date Announcement

I just realized that I forgot to post the other version of yesterday's card. I had the text in there, but never added the photo. Click here to see that post again and check out the blue version of the Elements of Style card.

Today's card uses the older Baroque Motifs stamp set. This one has been around for awhile and I wouldn't be surprised if it retired this year. Speaking of retired stamp sets -- we'll know for sure when the Retired List is released on April 15! It's a little earlier this year because the the current Idea Book & Catalog will end on May 31. We'll have six weeks to shop the retired list before those stamp sets are officially discontinued. Watch for the Retired Accessories list to be posted on April 25. Accessories will only be available while supplies last.

Here's the Girly Girl Baroque Motifs card. The colors were inspired by the Cheerful Treat Designer Paper. (Click here to see it, get it free with a $150 order or party.)

The ruffle at the bottom was made with the White Waffle Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I cut a piece and folded it half lengthwise so there was a nice straight edge. Then I ran adhesive along the bottom of the Pretty in Pink cardstock piece and put the waffle paper down, creating a pleated ruffle as I went. (Note: It took two pieces of the waffle paper to go all the way across the card.) Here's a close-up of the flower:

Do you love that pink rhinestone?? It's from the Blossom Builders Designer Printed Kit die cut flowers in the Occasions Mini Catalog. (See it online here.)

Creative Elements Birthday Card

Tonight was my Girly Girl card class (to be followed by the Manly Man card class next month). Here's one of the cards we made tonight. It's not the girliest of the cards, but it's got pearls (in the middle of the butterfly) and satin ribbon and is so pretty in person! Although, as I type this, I realized that I wanted to break out the Smooch Spritz and I forgot it...I think it would have added just the right shimmer!

Apothecary Art Birthday Card

I found this card when I cleaned out my office and realized that I never did share it with you. This was one of our Stamp Club projects in January. We used some of the new Occasions Mini Catalog products: Apothecary Art stamp set and the coordinating Labels Collection Framelits to cut them out with the Big Shot, plus the Paper Doily die behind it. I CASEd this card from a card swap, but I changed the colors and made the card a square. (If I remember right, it's a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" square and fits in the Medium Square Envelopes.

Check out this video from Stampin' Up! for some tips on using the Paper Doily die.

Mixed Bunch Crimped Envelope

Here's another Crimped Envelope Pouch that I made at Mischa and Juanita's party last week. Click here for my tutorial to learn how to make this project. We used the It's a Wrap stamp set to stamp labels that wrap around Hershey nuggets. I put four inside this pouch, but you could probably fit six.

Blossom Punch Cut Out Card

I literally fell asleep blogging last night! When I came back to my computer this morning, I found the photo uploaded, waiting for text. That's what happens when I work in my recliner, I guess! Since this is technically last night's card, I'll post another one tonight!

I was working on this card design for a shoebox swap, but ended up doing something else instead. I used the Blossom Punch to cut out the Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper and the Very Vanilla cardstock underneath shows through.

Sweet Shop Origami Cup Treat Holder

My upline, Kim Peck, designed this project for the make and take at our last group meeting. It's been awhile since I had made one of these origami paper cups and I forgot how quick and easy they are! This is a great way to dress up treats for a party or shower or your child's class party. Grab a 6" x 6" piece of designer paper and click here to learn how to make this origami paper cup yourself. (Note: For my project, I did not fold the back side of the cup down.) Once you know how to make it, try changing the size of your paper to make a bigger or smaller cup!

Stampin' Up! Designer Stickers

That's not a misprint! Stampin' Up! has released designer stickers in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The Sweet Shop Stickers coordinate with the other Sweet Shop products, including designer paper and Jelly Bean Brads. And they are quite yummy if I do say so myself! I love how quick and easy it is to add full color images to my projects. The stickers have a clear base so it blends right in with the background cardstock.

Herringbone Technique Tutorial

Did you like the card I posted yesterday? Click here to see it now. I love the way this Herringbone technique looks. This was one of the techniques demonstrated at Leadership Conference last month (and a special thanks to Claudia for the refresher at our last group meeting).

This technique is a great way to use up scraps of designer paper, and the key to holding it all together is the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. (Click here to see it in my Online Store.) They come in a package of 12 12"x12" sheets and you can cut them down to any size. I used a 3" x 4" piece for this card. Check out my free printable tutorial to learn how to do this technique at home.
