Witches Broom Candy Treat

Happy Halloween!! Here's a fun treat I made up with a chocolate Twizzler inside one of our 1x8 cello bags. I used the packing paper that comes in the Stampin' Up! orders and embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I think I could have made the bristles longer, but you still get the idea!

I saw an image posted on Facebook with a witches broom and the sentiment "Yes, I know how to drive a stick!". Hee hee! Happy Halloween from me and my goblins!

I'm setting up to film a video this afternoon to show you how to make the glittery face on the witch. But I'm adding this dazzling watercolor effect to another project! I'll post it tomorrow, so be sure to check back!

VIDEO Tutorial: Gift Wrap Essentials Gift Box

I'm having more fun with the Handmade Holidays Felt Ornaments. (See more projects here.) They are so cute even on their own, so I included them in a little gift box with gift tags and the yummy new Sweater Trim. Have you tried the Sweater Trim yet? It's so soft -- just like a snuggly sweater! You can get it in three different colors: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White. Really, you're going to watch all three! See?

Wouldn't this make a great gift for a hostess, teacher, or neighbor? Just a little something. And they'll appreciate the chance to add a little handmade touch to their own gift-giving this year. Make sure to check out all the Snow Festival products (the Sweater Trim, Stitched Felt Ornaments, and Snow Festival Designer Paper) in my Online Store here so you can make up your own gift boxes.

The possibilities for this little box are endless! In fact, you may have spotted a few other versions in the catalog, on pages 12 and 56. Check out this video tutorial from Stampin' Up! to learn how to make a gift box like this at home:

For my box, I used the same measurements given in the video. My gift tags were created with a 6" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock folded in half. The Snow Festival Designer Paper on the front of each tag is 2-1/4" x 2-3/4".

Do you ever flip the Stampin' Up! Catalog and stop to wonder, "how did they do that?". Today, I have an answer! Well, that is, if you were wondering about the card on page 105!

Christmas Cheer Pierced Ornament Card

I designed this card for Chrystal's party last weekend. I wanted to incorporate the items from the Ornament Keepsakes October promotion on one project and I did just that. Click here to find out how you can get a free gift when you purchase the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper before October 31.

We started by using the Festive Paper Piercing Pack to pierce the shape of the ornament on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, we used the Holiday Ornament Framelits from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog to cut three ornament from the Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper. We folded each one in half, with the side we wanted to show on the inside of the fold. Then we adhered the folded ornaments together and adhered it into the pierced snowflake on the vanilla cardstock. A little embossing folder and greeting later and the card is finished!

On the inside, we used the coordinating Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and More Merry Messages:

Be sure to watch next week...I think there may be a special offer around the corner!

This new ink pads adds a luminescent shimmer to stamped images. Check it out on this Snowflake Soiree card! Pursuit of Happiness "Leftovers" Card

Whenever I design a new project, I always end up with a rough draft and then make some improvements or I try out this punch or layer with that paper. Inevitably, I end up with card pieces leftover and I hate to just toss them out. This card was made with some of the leftover pieces that were on my desk when I finished designing the Comfort Cafe Designer Frame. (Click here to view the frame.)

Comfort Cafe Decorative Frame

Sometimes you have to disconnect to find your sanity. My week-long break from blogging helped me to focus on some other tasks that I had long been neglected -- like finishing my 2011 tax return and cleaning my office. I think my laptop crashing was a sign that I needed to go offline for awhile!

I have lots to share with you, so I'm just going to jump right in! I have been loving all of the Printer's Tray projects that I've seen since the recruiting promotion in August. (See the Halloween Printer's Tray here.) So I decided to come up with my own!

Do you love it!? I need to figure out the logistics of shipping (finding a box to fit the 12x12 frame), so I hope to offer this as a kit or as a finished frame sometime next month. In the meantime, if you're local, you can come and make your own!
