The retreat always goes so fast! On my last day in St. George, I went horseback riding with a few other demonstrators. This was an optional excursion that we arranged on our own. Utah is so very different from Illinois and I love spending time outdoors while I'm here and soaking in the beautiful landscape! It had been MANY years since I was on a horse. My horse, Wanda, was eager to get started and headed for the trail as soon as I got on. It made me a little nervous, but after we got going, it wasn't so bad. Here are a few pictures from our ride.
Saturday evening was our final night event. It's always a surprise. The only thing we were told was to dress for crafting! In keeping with the "Home for the Holidays" theme of this year's Founder's Circle Retreat, our activity was to create decorations and decorate a tree that will be raffled off at the Festival of Trees in Salt Lake City this winter.
Each team had a different job creating different decorations for one of three trees. It was our team's job to do the actually decorating. I was very intimidated by the empty tree and a table full of store bought ornaments. I still feel like it was more stressful than fun to do the decorating, but once we started getting the handmade ornaments on the tree, everything came together beautifully!
Here are a few of the ornaments the other teams created for the tree. This one uses the new Many Merry Stars Kit. See more.
This was one of my favorite ornaments! I'll create a video tutorial to share later this week. It is so easy using Sticky Strip and the Old Olive Twine from the Holiday Catalog!
This ornament uses the Tiny Treat Boxes from the Holiday Catalog. I love how it looks like a little present.
