Days to Remember 4th of July Card + Sunday Stamping Video

Happy 4th of July!! For today's episode of Sunday Stamping with Susan and Julie, we created projects with a Red, White, and Blue theme! I don't usually send cards for this holiday, so I had to stretch a little to find a stamp set that would work. I landed on the brand new Day to Remember stamp set. This was a good excuse to ink up this new set. The large calendar stamp is easy to customize my inking the portion you need for any month of any year. This set it perfect for scrapbooking and memory keeping too!

Help me decide! While I was designing, I couldn't decide between three or five red stripes in the background. Which way do you prefer it?

4th of July Patriotic Party Favor Box + Tutorial

Today's project is perfect for celebrating Independence Day with family and friends! This patriotic stars and stripes box uses just a half sheet of cardstock. I original created this version for the April On Stage Display Boards, but I've also made this box for many other occasions. See them here.

 

Here's how to make the Half Sheet Treat Box:

1. Start with a piece of cardstock that measures 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". 
2. Score at 1-1/2", 4", 5-1/2", and 8". 
3. Turn 90 degrees and score at 1-1/2". 
4. Cut on the score lines up to the 1-1/2" score line. Completely remove the tab at the end.
5. Fold on all the score lines. Use Tear & Tape or Fast Fuse to adhere the box together.

 

If you are more of a visual learner, here is the video that I created for this box a couple years ago. (It does use some retired product including the Silver Ink Pad, Rotary Attachment for the Stampin' Trimmer, and Stick Strip. Those items are no longer available in my Online Store.)

Control Freaks Blog Tour: New Catalog Inspiration

Whether you are hopping over from Lisa Martz's blog or just arriving -- welcome to the Control Freaks Blog Tour! Our theme this month is "New Catalog Goodness". We're showcasing projects using products from the brand new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog! There are so many new goodies to show you! I'm sure after seeing these projects, you'll have a few things to add to your wish list!

My first project is a card I made for our team meeting swap last month. I love the Affectionately Yours Washi Tape. I couldn't decide which pattern to use, so I decided to use them all! I added strips across the center of the Whisper White cardstock and then created a flower with the Festive Flower punch. The sentiment is embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.

The new Popcorn Box thinlit is great for making cute little gifts for party favors. The box is smaller than I expected. The finished box is 3-5/8" x 2-1/4" x 1-5/8". I was happy to see that I could cut two pieces (what you need to assemble the box) from one half sheet of cardstock. I dressed this one up for a summer party by punching a border with the Confetti Stars punch and adding strips of designer paper and Real Red cardstock.
