Another Great Year: Paper-Piecing Banners

I CASEd this card from my friend Robin Armbrecht who designed the make and takes for our last team meeting. I changed the colors in attempt to make it more masculine, but honestly, the heart on the cupcake makes it a little girly, so I went ahead and added the rhinestone and glitter!

Click here to see more cards using the Another Great Year stamp set. I like how Robin stamped the banners on another color and then cut them out and adhered them over the stamped image on white cardstock. This technique is called paper piecing.

Here is the last of the three cards from my January Stamp of the Month Club series featuring the Another Great Year stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog. I love the way this card pops with the white embossing on the dark cardstock.

I used the Starburst Framelits to create the recessed windows on this card. The starbursts are a great alternative shapes, especially for masculine cards. I'm sure you'll find these framelits a new must-have, even without the coordinating stamp set.

Stamp of the Month Club: Another Great Year

I am excited to reveal my January pick for Stamp of the Month Club. I choose the brand new "Another Great Year" stamp set from the just-released Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog! I choose three rich In Colors and paired them with Basic Gray and Whisper White for birthday greetings that truly pop! Here is the first of the three cards in this month's series.

I stamped the greeting in Basic Gray ink on Primrose Petals cardstock and then colored the letters in using the White Gel Pen. The love using the Starburst Framelits to introduce a new shape to accessorize this card. I used the framelits on all of the cards this month! Come back later to see more!
