AW02: Flower Shop Thank You Card

I found my half-finished card for the Around the World Challenge #2 still on my desk and decided to finish it up and post it. There are still two days left to participate in the challenge before we post a new one! AW02 is a color challenge. I always enjoy a color challenge. Sometimes it's hard to combine the colors, but it makes me think in a way that I normally wouldn't. The colors for our challenge are Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Always Artichoke, and Pear Pizzazz. Here's my card. Click here to see what the rest of the design team created with this color combination and enter your card by Oct 14th.

Wildflower Meadow Card + Linky Party Prize

My friend Stacey Schafer (also my former Stampin' Up! demonstrator on my team!) is throwing a party and you're invited!! Stacey is hosting a Linky Party on her blog to celebrate her birthday and you could win one of several amazing prizes if you participate. Among the prizes is a Gingham Garden bundle from me!! Click here to check out the Linky Party on Stacey's blog and find out how you can win!

Here's a card I made with various components of the prize bundle. I love how the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder coordinates with the stamp so you can emboss the stamped image. Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see another card that I made with this stamp.

New Catalog CASE: Kind & Cozy

One of my favorite things about a new catalog is hundreds of new project ideas to CASE (= Copy And Selectively Edit -- or Copy And Steal Everything, in other words "copy"!). Every year, I challenge my downline to use the catalog as their inspiration and CASE a card. It's such a tremendous resource for us! Whether it's the color combination or the layout or everything, there is so much inspiration to be found in the new Stampin' Up! annual catalog! Check out my first CASE:

Here's the sample I was inspired by on page 27. It's not exactly the same, but I used the same shapes and elements.

Tip: Dying Flower Trim with Stampin' Up! Marker

Did you see my post earlier with the Stampin' Success article about dying embellishments? Here's another way to dye the new Flower Trim from Stampin' Up! -- use a Stampin' Write Marker!

I love the look of just coloring the edges of the flower "petals". It's easy to achieve by simply brushing your marker tip over the flower. Use a Paper Piercer or Paper Snips to hold the flower in place as you color with the marker.
