VIDEO: Stampin' Up! Bee My Valentine Treat Box with Brayer Bubble Wrap Technique

Stampin' Up! has had several iterations of a brayer over the years. We've had sponge brayers and rubber brayers -- and now a silicone brayer! Brayers are perfect for evenly spreading ink while you're crafting -- whether that is direct to paper, across a background stamp, or on an embossing folder! Check out past projects on my blog that feature the brayer.

One technique that I fondly remember is the Bubble Wrap Technique -- using the brayer to ink up a piece of bubble wrap and then transferring the pattern to the project. It kind of looks like a beehive, so this technique is perfect for the new Bee Mine Suite! I used designer paper and the Be My Valentine bundle to create this treat box.

Stampin' Creative Blog Hop: Ombre Flowering Foils Card

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently you are visiting Julie Davison from Champaign, Illinois in the United States. This month we are sharing Monochromatic cards -- cards that showcase different shades of one color.

Inspired by St. Patrick's Day earlier this month, I chose green for my card and used both the Sponge Brayer and Stamping Sponges to create an ombre effect on the Flowering Foils Designer Paper. I started with a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Flowering Foils Designer Paper. First, I brayered Mint Macaron ink across the center. Then, I used a quarter of a Stamping Sponge to add Shaded Spruce to the bottom of the paper. Tip: Create a "handle" with coordinating cardstock and the Circle Tab Punch.

I designed this card for our downline gathering in Michigan last month. I love being able to connect with my mom's group when we are visiting. After Christmas, we always do a potluck and either a shoebox swap or a regular swap with some stamping projects. The striped designer paper is the new Irresistibly Yours Designer Paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure. Images are clear embossed on the white paper and you can color is in many ways (Stampin' Spritzer, Sponging, Blendabilities, etc). We used a brayer and the Old Olive ink pad to color the paper and then wiped the excess ink off the embossed lines with a tissue.

Retro Serigraph Technique Tutorial

In honor of Thanksgiving, I am posting a new free technique tutorial to thank you for following my blog, leaving feedback, and sharing my stamping journey online. I hope you have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!

This technique is one I shared with my Stamp Club last month. It's a combination of Versamark Resist and Serigraph -- with a little Retro twist. I was trying to remember a technique my upline showed me several years ago with sticky notes. I think I got it a little backwards, but the result is stunning!
