Stampin' Up! Happy Thoughts Butterfly Cards

The new Annual Catalog is just around the corner. Demonstrators around the world will get their first peek today and get to pre-order on April 1. The catalog will launch on May 4. In the meantime, it's time to say goodbye to some of our favorites. Stampin' Up! will post the list of retiring products from the Annual Catalog at 1:00 pm MT today, Wednesday, March 24, 2021. I'll post the list here as soon as I get it cleaned up, so be sure to check back here! 

Just a warning -- almost everything on the list will only be available while supplies last! And in the past, some things have sold out in the first couple days. So don't wait to get your favorites!

Speaking of while supplies last, the limited edition Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper, which was also "while supplies last", has sold out and is no longer available! I didn't get a chance to share these cards before the paper sold out. Although I used butterflies that were die cut from the designer paper, you could easily recreate these cards using the Butterfly Brilliance bundle and customize the butterflies in any color that you want.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance Healing Hugs Card

I just can't get enough of these gorgeous butterflies! Whether you stamp and die cut or die cut and layer the detailed dies, you'll love all the ways you add these brilliant wings to your cards! 

This heat-embossed sentiment pops against the colorful Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper! The vellum layer anchors the center components without taking much away from the color in the background! I used the Stitched Rectangles to die cut it for some extra texture.

VIDEO: Butterfly Bijou Tower Cards + Templates & Tutorial

Inspired by my team member Pam DiNunzio who shared this fun fold card with our team, I went searching for a tutorial and found one over at Mixed Up Craft. The original Tower Card is a larger card and I wanted to make one that was smaller, taking only a half sheet of cardstock and able to fit inside an A2 envelope (that's a regular Stampin' Up! Medium envelope).

I also changed it to have fewer cuts, which gave me an opportunity to add some designer paper at the top and bottom. I shared a Magenta Madness version earlier this week. Here's the one I created for my video tutorial:

The cutting is a little tedious, but the measurements are pretty simple -- everything is in 1" increments from the ends. 

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/4" Cardstock
• Long Side at the Top: Score at 1", 2", 6-1/4", and 7-1/4"
• Short Side at the Top: Make short cuts from 1" to 3" and 5-1/4" to 7-1/4" at 1", 2", 3-1/2", and 4-1/2"
• (2) 3/4" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper
• (2) 3/4" x 4" Designer Paper
• 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" White
• 3" x 3" Designer Paper

A hallmark of the original Tower Card is the additional slits, so I decided to make another card that was more true to that design. This one is almost exactly the same, I just added cut lines at 1/2" increments.

This photo better shows the dimension of the card. It stands well on its own to display.

Again, this template is almost identical to the modified version, it just has extra cuts. Here are the measurements:

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/4" Cardstock
• Long Side at the Top: Score at 1", 2", 3", 5-1/4", 6-1/4", and 7-1/4"
• Short Side at the Top: Make short cuts from 1" to 3" and 5-1/4" to 7-1/4" at 1/2", 1", 1-1/2", 2", 3", 3-1/2", 4", and 4-1/2"
• (2) 3/4" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper
• 2" x 5-1/4" Designer Paper
• 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" White
• 3" x 3" Black

Butterfly Brilliance Thinking of You Card + VIDEO

I love swapping cards with other demonstrators! I have a group of friends who I swap with whenever there is a new product release. This group swaps in a one-for-one style, which means that we each individual cards directly to each other instead of sending them to a swap host who trades them and sends them back. The cards trickle in and I get fun mail all week long! It's so much fun!

I love this versatile layout! You can use it with any designer paper to create cards for any occasion. 

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base, scored at 4-1/4" 
• 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" layer 3" x 3" Designer Paper 
• 1-1/2" x 5-1/2"  Designer Paper 

What makes this layout so great is that it efficiently uses 6" x 6" designer paper. You can make four cards with this layout using just two pieces of 6" x 6" designer paper! 

Gather these supplies and watch the replay of my free online class from World Card-Making Day to follow along and stamp a stack of your own cards at home. Here's what you'll need: 

• (2) 6" x 6" Designer Paper (use a 6" x 6" pack or cut 12" x 12" down. One pattern should be more "neutral" or not as busy as the other pattern and they should definitely coordinate with each other 
• (2) 8-1/2" x 11" pieces of Cardstock for the card bases 
• (1) 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock 
• (4) Die Cut or Punched Labels/Circles to stamp sentiment 
• Paper Trimmer 
• Stamps, Ink, and embellishments (ribbon, rhinestones, additional stamped images) to decorate your card 
• Adhesive including Stampin' Dimensionals

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance Modified Tower Card

After seeing a "Tower Card" created by one of my team members, I looked for a tutorial and found one on Mixed Up Craft. I adjusted the measurements to make it smaller with fewer cuts. My modified version folds flat to fit inside a regular A2 (Medium) Envelope, yet had dimension to stand on its own!
