Christmas Tin Game

I have been working on this project for months. Literally! I made all the pieces of this game back in August, but never finished the "packaging" of it. When I saw Brooke & Sankari's latest Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge which features Miracle on 34th Street, I knew I had to finish this up and get it posted. It was a true miracle! ha ha! (Did I mention they are giving away blog candy this week? All you have to do is post a project for their challenge!)

So, here's the story behind my project: Christmas is my very most favorite holiday. It is filled with lots of little traditions in my family and my siblings and I cherish each one of them. One of those when we were younger was that we weren't allowed out of our rooms Christmas morning until the appointed (by Mom and Dad) time. Of course, we could hardly sleep, wondering and waiting to see what Santa had brought for us. So, we would stockpile games in our room on Christmas Eve to keep ourselves entertained until the magic hour.

Without further adieu, here is my Christmas Tin Game:

These skinny silver tins are available from Stampin' Up! for $1.95 each (Item #108333). (Sorry about the glare on the tins in the photos.)

I was inspired by the Monster Match game I saw on SCS last year. As soon as I saw the sneak peek of the Deer Friends hostess set this summer, I knew that I had to make a Christmas version of this "Memory" game.

And, I was so inspired by the memory of our Christmas morning game time that I created another Christmas Tin Game. Watch for pictures tomorrow!

Supplies: Deer Friends, Short Order Alphabet, Season's Greetings (retired), Ski Slope DSP, Metallic Gold cardstock, Ruby Red ink & cardstock, Basic Black ink, Old Olive ink & cardstock, Elegant Eggplant ink & cardstock, Really Rust ink & cardstock, Cameo Coral ink & cardstock, Not Quite Navy ink & cardstock, More Mustard ink & cardstock, Close to Cocoa ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Kraft cardstock, Scallop Edge Punch, Round Tab Punch, Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-1/4" & 1-3/8" Circle Punches, Gold Cord, Coluzzle, Stampin' Dimensionals, Silver Tin
