Stamping Relay Race

Part of our "So You Think You Can Stamp" festivities included a stamping relay race! Everyone sat at the table with three people on each side and each person had to do one step of the card. The first person used a border punch and glued Designer Paper to cardstock, the second person tied on a ribbon and glued the card front to the card, and the last person stamped, punched, and Stampin' Dimensional'ed the greeting to the card. I was so busy cheering everyone on that I forgot to take pictures of the relay race! Here is a picture of the cards. Each side of the table did one of the cards. The cards were basically the same, so everything was fair and equal!

Supplies: Curly Label Bundle, Say It With Scallops, Cameo Coral ink & cardstock, Rose Red ink & cardstock, Raspberry Tart DSP, Whisper White cardstock, Curly Label Punch, Scallop Square Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, 1/4" Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Say It With Scallops Series: Day 6

Today is the last day of my Say It With Scallops Virtual Fundraiser. I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects featuring the Say It With Scallops stamp set. To view them all at once, click here.

Any online orders placed today on my website will count toward the fundraiser and I will donate 20% of your order to our local Ronald McDonald House. Click here to go to my website and "Shop Now".

For my last Say It With Scallops project, I used two of the stamps from Say It With Scallops to create sort of a collage. Can you spot which two?

The "hi" stamp is obvious. But the other one may not be: it's the thank you greeting without the frame. (I inked it up with my black marker) and then stamped the "u" from Jumble Alphabet (on sale 20% off this month; click here for details) in red.

I love making cards, art, or scrapbook pages like this. It's kind of like making a quilt. Each square is different and then you pull it all together with a central theme. In this case, I used Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #53. These colors are so bring and fun. I'm also working on a scrapbook page with these colors too. I have a perfect picture of Thomas from Touch-a-Truck day last week. Check back tomorrow to see it!

Supplies: Say It With Scallops, Jumble Alphabet, Real Red ink, Pacific Point ink, Basic Black marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Kraft cardstock, Good Morning Sunshine DSP, Pink Flamingo DSP, Rockability DSP, Summer Sun Corduroy Buttons, Bold Brights Brads, Black Gingham Ribbon, 1/2" Circle Punch, Scallop Square Punch, Stampin' Dimesionals

Say It With Scallops Series: Day 5

I was inspired by the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #33 when I created this 8-1/2" x 8-1/2" scrapbook page for Elise's book. The movie this week is Ever After. I just love this fairytale! I used a flourish, pink tones, and rhinestones to give these pages a princess sort of feel.

I used the thank you stamp from Say It With Scallops and covered up the greeting with a little square stamped with 6. (The number and "months" stamp come from the Short Order Numbers set.)

I mocked up the 2nd page, but I think I may change the photos before I finish it. I can't decide between other photos of Elise playing and eating or the photos from Hawaii and Easter of her wearing the same dress. Once I decide, I'll add journaling on the top note.

Supplies: Say It With Scallops, Baroque Motifs (flourish), Short Order Numbers, Rose Red ink & cardstock, Pretty in Pink ink & cardstock, Flower Fusion, Flower Fusion Too, Rhinestone Brads, Top Note die for the Big Shot, Crafter's Toolkit

Only one day left for the Say It With Scallop Virtual Fundraiser. Place any order on my website and I'll donate 20% to the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, IL. And check back tomorrow for one last project using the Say It With Scallops stamp set.

Say It With Scallops Series: Day 4

Our favorite babysitter is graduating high school today. We're going to miss her when she goes off to college at the end of the summer! We are attending her open house this afternoon. Her invitations were pink and brown, so I made a pink and brown card. I never figured out what to get her, so we're going with cold, hard cash. What graduate wouldn't love that!?

I remembered seeing this little peek-a-boo cash card at our demonstrator group meeting last week. (I think it was Rae Ann that brought it, but now I can't remember.) The design is very simple. It's basically a piece of cardstock that is scored/folded in two places to create a card with a pocket.

Here's the front view; I kept it pretty simple. (In hindsight, I wish I would have done a layered scallop circle in front instad of the square. Oh well...)

And the inside:

I used the 1-3/8" Circle Punch to create the window for Andrew Jackson to peek through.

The measurements for my card were 6-1/2" x 8-1/4" and I scored at 2-3/4" and 5-1/2".

Supplies: Say It With Scallops, Starring You (way to go), Pretty in Pink marker & cardstock, Close to Cocoa marker & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Small Star Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Square Punch, Berry Bliss DSP (retired)

This set is not just for card-making! Check back tomorrow for a new non-card project using the Say It With Scallops stamp set. Click here for all the details on my virtual fundraiser.

Say It With Scallops Series: Day 3

Do you ever create a card that just doesn't look quite right and you set it aside and come back to it? My original concept for this card didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I let it sit for awhile and I came back to it this morning and tried to make it less fussy. I think I like the end result. What do you think?

Maybe it's that bright Washington Apple paper that I'm struggling with...it is very bold. I do love the color combination that it gave the card and it pulls the rest of the card together.

Supplies: Say It With Scallops, Fundamental Phrases, Washington Apple DSP, Riding Hood Red ink, Whisper White cardstock, So Saffron cardstock, Pumpkin Pie cardstock, Soft Subtles Brads, Scallop Square Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4" Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Click over to Stacey's blog and see what's she has for us today. And don't forget to place your online order on my website before Tuesday night. I'll donate 20% of these orders to our local Ronald McDonald House. Click here for all the details.

Say It With Scallops Series: Day 2

Images from the Say It With Scallops stamp set are designed to fit in the Scallop Square Punch, however, you can use a variety of other punches as well. Don't let the shape of the original image keep you from using it in other ways. For these cards, I used the "for you" stamp and punched on the words using the Small Oval Punch.

You might not be able to tell from the photo, but these are micro mini cards -- they are 2" x 2". Really, they are more like gift tags that would be great to stick in a gift bag or tie on with a ribbon. I have a feeling this size is going to be trendy this summer. I ran out of time to make a box for these. Wouldn't it be great if we had a die that made a box that fit 2" x 2" cards!? Hmmm...

I made 10 cards and they were all a little different, using pieces of the Parisian Breeze Speciality DSP and Baja Breeze cardstock. (Don't forget the Designer Series Paper is on special this month! Click here for details.) Here's some close-ups of a few of the cards:

Check out Stacey's Day Two project using the Say It With Scallops stamp set. And if you haven't done it yet, make sure to place an order on my website this weekend. I'll be donating 20% of your order to the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, IL. Thanks for your support!

I'm so excited to share projects with you using then Say It With Scallops stamp set. I hope you that if don't already own this versatile stamp set, that you will consider purchasing it before it retires on June 30. And if place your order on my website this weekend, I will also donate 20% of your merchandise total to our local house!

The first project I will be sharing comes directly from the Stampin' Up! Home Office. I love the way they cut pieces of this image and layered it with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Hi from the Lion Card

Gosh, sometimes I really have a hard time coming up with titles for my posts...ha ha! If I had a pet lion, this would be a great card to send to someone to let them know the lion was saying hi. Right? No, I'm not on crack and contrary to what you might think, I DID sleep last night. Actually, that's why this wasn't posted yesterday like I had planned. Oh well! Here's my card for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #51. I'm actually glad I waited a day to post it, because I realized this morning that it needed the ribbon and it looks much better with it.

I really love this layout -- inspired by Becky Carafa's "My Fave" card here. I love her clean and simple style!

Supplies: Wild About You, Say it with Scallops (hi), More Mustard marker & cardstock, Rose Red ink & marker, Chocolate Chip cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Raspberry Tart DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Vintage Brads, 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon, SU Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates for the Big Shot, Hobby Blade, Stampin' Dimensionals

Congrats Star Card

When I sat down to make this card, I was trying to use this sketch from SplitCoastStampers.com. However, I couldn't get it to look right and I ended up going in an entirely different direction. I really like the way it turned out, so I'm giving up on the sketch.

Supplies: So Many Scallops, Nursery Necessities (star), So Saffron cardstock, Pretty in Pink ink & cardstock, Regal Rose cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Versamark, Winter White embossing powder, Georgia Peach DSP, Scallop Square Punch, Small Star Punch, Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, silver cord

Congrats Card

Elise slept quite a bit today. I hope that doesn't mean that she'll be up all night! Either way, I really enjoyed the quiet time (Jim kept the other two occupied most of the day) and finally got caught up one some cleaning. After clearing off my stamp table, I even had time for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge.

This card is appropriate to post as I announce the winner of the Big Shot Giveaway. I numbered everyone who qualified for the drawing and used Random.org to select the winner. And the lucky stamper is...Rita Zimmerman! Congratulations! I will order your Big Shot tonight! Thank you to everyone who participated and placed an order with me in October. I'll be sending each of you a card with a special surprise later this week.

Supplies: So Many Scallops, So Saffron cardstock, Rose Red ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Junior Varsity DSP, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Trio Flower Punch, Gold Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Say It With Scallops Thank You Note

I'm working on thank you notes again today. And after getting two more packages in the mail for Elise today, I realized I need to pick up my pace a little! Here's a quick one I made up with the Say It With Scallops stamp set.

It's hard to see in the picture, but I cut out the square with the greeting in the middle and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the Scallop Square frame.

Say It With Scallops is the Ronald McDonald charity stamp set this year. When you purchase this stamp set, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.
