Happy You, Happy Friend Card

I finally had a chance to just "play" with my new stamps last weekend. It's kind of sad that it has taken my so long to do that, but that's how May was for me! Here's one of my first cards with the new "Happy You" hostess set. You can get this stamp set for free when you host a party or order $150 or more. This set of 8 includes cute line art images with sentiments underneath.

I pulled the color scheme from the new Floral District Designer Paper. The colors are So Saffron, Rich Razzleberry, and Lucky Limeade. I didn't use the new In Colors for this one, but check back tomorrow for another new sample featuring new colors!

For All You Do Bookmark Card with Cutter Kit

This bookmark card was one of the make and takes we made at my Customer Appreciation Party earlier this month. We used the retiring Cutter Kit to perforate the cardstock between the flowers and the designer paper so that the bookmark can tear off and be used by the recipient.

I intended to film a video for this card, but ran out of time, so here's a quick photo that shows how I used the Cutter Kit. I adhered the stamped piece and designer paper to the card front, then laid it flat on the a cutting mat. I used the straight edge of one of my Big Shot cutting pads and lined it up where I wanted to perforate. Then I ran the perforating tool against the edge of the cutting pad. Slow and steady wins the race here. Make sure to keep it tight against the straight edge or it will get wavy and out of control.

The Cutter Kit also includes a cutting blade, scoring tool, and a 7-edge distressing tool (the part I use the most!). It's retiring and will not be available after May 31, so make sure to check it out in my Online Store today!

Last Chance Favorites: For All You Do

The For All You Do stamp set has always been special to me because it was given to me on the Hawaii incentive trip back in 2009. Hawaii was my second incentive trip and I was asking for people to pinch me because it felt like I dream! The Hawaii trip was a land trip and more conducive to having my 6 month old daughter tag-a-long. My hubby and I took turned snorkeling  while the other stayed on the beach with the baby napping in the stroller. When it was time to do make and takes, I sent Jim off to golf and figured the baby would sleep while I stamped. Baby E didn't cooperate as I had hoped she would and Angela, Brent Steele's wife ended up walking with baby while I stamped.  She was such a sweetheart!

These are all the things I think of every time I pull out the "For All You Do" stamp set. Maybe I'll have to hang on to this one for sentimental value!

Here are some of my favorite projects using the For All You Do stamp set. Click on each photo of more details about each project. Come back tomorrow for a new project and video tutorial!

Scallop Square Cards with Perfect Punches

It's catch up a time again! I just sent out a bunch of thank you cards and birthday cards to catch up on those I have missed over the last month. I still hope to get to a point where I can start sending all birthday cards on time. It's good to have goals, right?! ;)

This clean and simple design, inspired by a card I received from Meg Loven (thanks, Meg!), was the perfect for catch up mode! I had lots of Peach Parfait to use up and some Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper leftover from Sale-A-Bration.

The designer paper is 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" and it is adhered to the card (the part that opens), which is 3-3/4" x 7-1/2" folded in half to make a 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" Very Vanilla card.

The Scallop Square barely fit in a medium envelope. I kind of refolded the top to make it work. It would also fit in the medium square envelopes, but that requires extra postage.

Here's another version using the Paisley Petals paper.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Perfect Punches, Thank You Kindly, Peach Parfait ink & cardstock, Bravo Burgundy ink & cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper, Paisley Petals Designer Paper, Scallop Circle Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, Peach Parfait Ribbon, Petal Cone Die (Big Shot) -- banner, Scallop Square die (Big Shot), Stampin' Dimensionals

Free Standing Pop Up Card Video Tutorial

I have been rediscovering old projects lately. This Free Standing Pop Up card is one I first made about five years ago. I can't take credit for the original design, but it still wows! Here's the card when it's "open". It stands on it's own and shows off the beautiful stamped flowers.

This is the third card in my Stamp of the Month Club trio featuring the Field Flowers stamp set. It's not too late to join the club! You'll get the clear mount stamp set and three hand-stamped cards, including this one. Click here for more details about this club.

This is what the card looks like when it's closed. It's flat and will mail in an regular Medium size envelope. Just push down at the top of the Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
Here's the side view.

I know it looks complicated, but when you know how to cut and score it, it's really not that hard. Check out my video tutorial to learn how to make this card at home.

Turtle & Co. Hoppy Hello Frog Card

This is one of the make and takes I provided at my Customer Appreciation Party. I tried to incorporate some of my favorite retiring products. This card features: Turtle & Co stamp set (Stampin' Up! will donate $3 to the Ronald McDonald House charities when you buy this stamp set.), Large Tag Punch (on sale for only $11.96), Stampin' Pastels, and the 2010-2012 In Colors Patterns Designer Paper.

I love the combination of Pear Pizazz and Old Olive. I'm really going to miss Pear Pizazz when it retires in another week! And that little frog?! He's just too cute! Click here to see some other projects made using the Turtle & Co. stamp set.

Big Top Box #2 Treats

My annual Customer Appreciation Party was yesterday. It was kind of a crazy day, but everything went well and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I had make and takes, games, prizes, food, and a project raffle. I wanted everyone to win something and feel spoiled, so I had a couple gifts that were for everyone. One of those gifts were these Box #2 treats. We played the Left-Right Game and passed the boxes around throughout the story each time I said "left" or "right". In the end, everyone ended up with a different box, which contained some ribbon and an embellishment (brads, windowpanes, etc.)

The Box #2 die made a big impression on everyone! Eight people ordered it that night! It' such an easy box to put together and only requires one small piece of Sticky Strip. The size is nice too! Click here to see more projects made using this die. And make sure to order yours before it retires on May 31! Click here to find it in my Online Store.

Framelit Treat Holder

We made this project in Stamp Club this month. It's a treat holder; there's a bag of candy in the middle. It's hard to tell in the photo, but we used the ink pad lids and a Blender Pen to watercolor the flowers and leaves and then added some Smooch Iridescent Ink over it.

It's easy to make and I'll tell you how, but if you want a video tutorial, leave me a comment and I'll add it to my "to do" list!

Shelli Gardner demonstrated this project on stage at Leadership Conference. Start with two pieces of cardstock cut with the Labels Collections Framelits. (I used the second largest size.) Cut about 1" off the round end off of both pieces. (I cut it at one of the "bumps" in the framelit.) Then score 1" from the cut side. Add sticky strip to the flap of one of the pieces and adhere the two pieces together by matching up the 1" flaps. Bring the tops together and punch a hole for ribbon. Embellish as desired.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:  Four Frames, Petite Pairs, Blushing Bride ink & cardstock, Pear Pizzazz ink & cardstock, Jet Black Staz-On ink, Whisper White cardstock, 2010-2012 In Colors Patterns DSP, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Labels Collection Frameslits (Big Shot), Crop-a-Dile, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Last Chance Favorites: Box #2 Die Projects

I was hoping to do a couple videos during nap time this afternoon, but it was cut short and I spent much of the afternoon snuggling on the couch with my baby girl. I rather enjoyed my time, but that means no video for you today.  Stay tuned, I'll make sure to get it done tomorrow!

In the meantime, I wanted to share some of my favorite projects using the Box #2 Big Shot die that is on the Retiring List.  I love this die -- especially because it requires just one small piece of Sticky Strip to hold the whole thing together!! Last Chance Favorites: Flowers Never Fade Cards

When I think about the Flowers Never Fade stamp set, I don't think of it as a favorite, but when I look back at the cards I have made with it,  I love them all!

When I saw these again, I remembered also how much I love these clean and simple layouts. Perhaps you'll see them again as I start playing with my new stuff!
