VIDEO: Telescoping Circles Card Tutorial

Two years ago, I posted a video slideshow and printable tutorial for the Telescoping Card. I started my YouTube channel to post this video slideshow and warned that I wasn't going to start doing videos...at least not yet. It was actually this "video" that made me change my mind. When I realized that the video had gotten over 30,000 in just six months, it was a real eyeopener!

I'm not sure why I didn't post a "real" video tutorial for this card sooner, but as a featured project in my July Stamp of the Month Club, here is the Regarding Dahlias version of the Telescoping Card:

Regarding Dahlia: Dress Card with Creped Filter Paper Flower

Here's another card from my July Stamp of the Month Club series featuring the Regarding Dahlia stamp set. I used the flower stamp in the background of the card. (Click here to learn more about Stamp of the Month Club.)

I used the 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch and the Creped Filter Paper to create the flower embellishment. Check out this video to learn how to make the flower. With the Creped Filter Paper, skip the water spritz and just scrunch each layer to fluff the flower out.

VIDEO: Faux Iris Twist Tutorial

Yesterday, I posted a set of Halloween projects for the Control Freaks Blog Tour. (See them here.) One of the cards used the Faux Iris Twist technique. Several years ago, I learned the Iris Twist technique, which involved bulky folded paper and a template. I simplified the technique to get the same look.
